Why do 'pro-workers' seem to be 'pro-amnesty'?

Ive noticed that the people that seem to be %26#039;pro-workers%26#039; also seem to be %26#039;pro-amnesty%26#039;. have you pro-workers ever thought what would happen if we granted amnesty?

right now, we have a very low unemployment rate. Because it is so low, companies offer incentives for people to stay.. When you have a flood of low skilled workers, why would a company need to pay someone $20 an hour to do a job? If that person quits, there is no problem finding another worker to take that job.

what would that do to americans pay?

I consider myself to be more of a supporter for workers then business, and granting amnesty would be disastrous for american workers.

Your analysis is correct, but some of the traditional pro-worker institutions see things differently. The unions want more dues-paying members, so they tend to side with the illegals. The Democrats envision a %26quot;path to citizenship%26quot; as a means of enrolling new voters. Both groups are very short-sighted - adding a million new workers annually, which is what we%26#039;ve been doing, depresses wages, increases prices for basics like food and housing, and strains the infrastructure to the breaking point, which is why schools and hospitals in CA are going bankrupt. The economic impact of illegal immigration needs to be more fully understood. Then we as a nation need to decide how much of our standard of living we%26#039;re willing to sacrifice to help others - there are millions more wanting to come here - and pass some enforceable laws that help us achieve that goal. Having these decisions imposed from without is simply unacceptable.

no it wouldnt because they are already here therefore are already at those jobs.they can get pretty much any job unless it takes a degree.if they are already here how will it impact us in the future when they are legal and can obey all laws that you keep complaining they arent abiding by?|||my belief is that illegals were allowed in because it was the end of the baby boom and it was becoming a workers market so they just let in illegals galore which has caused a glut already in some work sectors and kept wages down. like teenagers, low skilled workers and their ability to find jobs.|||We have a 3.5% Unemployment rate Nationally from company CEOs to laborers, If 12 million present workers are deported, who is to take their place, Agribusiness will have 2 options, raise wages and pass the higher cost on to consumers, or close shop and relocate to where the cheap labor is.

Did you know on the international market economy Brazil, is poised to surpass the United States as the number 1 exporter of Food to the world.
