The Republican Congress forced a balanced budget on Clinton. Remember Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution gives Congress not the President power over the budget.

The dot.com boom and the internet created a lot of those jobs as did international trade which many Democrats are now having second thoughts about.Unemployment has been lower during the Bush Administration.

None of that is really important since the economy flows from Administration to Administration unless Congress makes the monumentally stupid mistake of raising taxes on personal or corporate income as the current Democratic Congress is planning to do and both Democratic presidential contenders are promising their supporters. That guarantees disaster.

The answer to your question however is that the political climate in the Democratic party is toxic.

Clinton was well regarded personally and politically by Democrats until sizable numbers of activists inside the party backed another candidate for the presidential nomination in 2008. Mrs. Clinton was also highly revered.

In order for Obama to win when the going got tough, those who supported him had to take down Bill Clinton and his %26quot;legacy%26quot; and they didn%26#039;t care what the cost was to the Democratic party. Win at any cost.

They didn%26#039;t care how much money the Clintons had raised for the party or what they had done over the years. The Clintons had to be destroyed.

The same crew had done it to a fine former Governor of Texas and a long-time Democratic Senator from Connecticut so they knew how to do it.

Kill them. Stake in the heart. No loyalty. No mercy.

I%26#039;m a Republican and I disagree with his philosophy of government (and a few teensy other little problems of course) but neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton deserves what the Obama forces have done to them and their record in the White House.
