Have you tried West Michigan (the Grand Rapids/Holland/Muskegon area)? Grand Rapids is becoming reknown in the medical field. In fact, there is an area dubbed %26quot;Healthcare Hill%26quot; and the %26quot;Medical Mile%26quot;. There is the new Van Andel Research Institute, Michigan State is relocating its College of Human Medicine to Grand Rapids, new hospitals are being built, and so on.

Also, West Michigan%26#039;s economy is different than the rest of Michigan.

West Michigan job market expected to grow

%26quot;This region has the healthiest economy in the state, and the outlook appears relatively rosy for future hires. That%26#039;s the consensus of Manpower Inc. and its analyst, Joe Ross.

%26quot;Michigan%26#039;s got two economies right now,%26quot; Ross said. %26quot;One is West Michigan, and the rest of the state.%26quot;

Ross sees it this way: %26quot;If it were a summer movie, we would call it %26#039;Revenge of the West Side,%26#039; %26quot; Ross said. %26quot;West Michigan still is the bright spot in the entire state.%26quot;%26quot;

Industrial market shows promise

%26quot;Donald Shoemaker, principal for Franklin Partners, said he bought the Siemens Dematic facilities, 4147 and 4247 Eastern Ave. SE, because the regional market has been strong.

%26quot;We%26#039;re asked all the time, %26#039;Why would you go to the worst economy in the nation to do business?%26#039; But that%26#039;s with the east half of Michigan added in,%26quot; he said.

In West Michigan, the outlook and demand are considerably different than the Detroit area, he said.%26quot;

Don%26#039;t give up! At the bottom is a great resume%26#039; helper. Look for a example of a resume%26#039; that match your skills or the job you are trying to land and make honest but a more solid RESUME%26#039;.

Take care.

Tip for a strong resume:

http://www.jobbankusa.com/resumewrite/re...|||Welcome to Granhomeland! I%26#039;ve lived in Michigan for 33 years and I have never seen it this bad. I have been looking for 6 months as my company downsized my position - Automotive moving all new product lines to Mexico. 6.9% as opposed to the national average of 4.6%. And the state won%26#039;t extend unemployment benefits because it%26#039;s based on the nation rate, not the state rate. Well, let%26#039;s lose more people and errode the tax base even more and continue those 10 year tax breaks to corporations. I am seriously considering moving out of state, but have a house to sell! Luckily I don%26#039;t have a huge mortgage and can sell it for less just to get rid of it. But who is going to buy it! Not someone unemployed! Sorry, but I am in the same boat as you and just had to vent.
