Where are the jobs? Bush told the 8.2 million unemployed to get one. Does he mean military service?

WASHINGTON, DC鈥擱esponding to the nation%26#039;s worst unemployment rate since the Hoover Administration, President Bush addressed the nation%26#039;s 8.2 million unemployed workers in a televised speech Monday.

President Bush urges America%26#039;s jobless to get off their duffs.

%26quot;The economy has been on the rebound for months, but 5.6 percent of you are still out of work,%26quot; Bush said. %26quot;Come on, people: Get a job!

Where are the jobs? Bush told the 8.2 million unemployed to get one. Does he mean military service?apply for a loan

Probably

Where are the jobs? Bush told the 8.2 million unemployed to get one. Does he mean military service? loan

I agree with him. And if you ever take an economics class, you will see that is within a normal range of unemployment.|||Man am I glad I don%26#039;t live in your country. It%26#039;s run by a moron and the people are morons for voting him in the second time. I know my country will prosper from your plummetting economy :)|||I am one of those who watch the Lou Dobbs and Glen Beck shows. On one of the Lou Dobbs show (after the jobs report came out), he was blasting the report, the ONLY increase in jobs was in the GOVERNMENT SECTOR. Just what this country needs, bigger Government. We the taxpayers are paying for this bigger Government. You might be able to go look for yourself on his site...........past transcripts to the shows.|||Sadly, a lot of anti-Bushies will probably think this isn%26#039;t a completely fictional news item.

But it does certainly show the mentality of the left. Although there is nothing, not a single instance in Bush%26#039;s entire public career, where he%26#039;s said or implied anything even remotely like this, they think that it is not only a plausible thing for him to say, but they actually really believe that is how he feels about it.

How freaking pathetic.|||Exactly!!

Bush Government Policy:

1st - tank the economy

2nd - go to war (who needs a reason just do it)

3rd - cut social help for the unemployed and needy

4th - cut taxes for the rich to guarantee service job workers keep getting paid (wouldnt want the rich to not be able to pay minimum wage)

5th - promote jobs going overseas as much as possible

6th - once step 5 is complete and unemployment is out the roof, flood the media with how the military is in desperate need

7th - against their moral beliefs, ppl in suffering economies like in Ohio and Michigan join the military in flocks

Hitler%26#039;s, I mean Bush%26#039;s, world force Army is complete!!!!|||You%26#039;ve got to admit, that a lot of people only go to a job long enough to train and then quit.

I saw this in call centers ALL the time...60 day training period, they took it, would call in now and then, and then as soon as it was time to be on the phones for real...GONE.

But, a lot of people would also rather draw unemployment or welfare than to flip burgers...and that%26#039;s sad. What happened to PRIDE?|||Don%26#039;t have a job, but have internet access to post lame-o questions?...hmmmmm.

Did he really say Duffs?|||US army offers very good jobs to unemployed people!

With free trips to exotic places, free camping and free food!!!

http://hellas-fos.blogspot.com/|||McDonald%26#039;s is always hiring.|||I see the local McDonald%26#039;s is hiring.

that is probably what he was talking about.|||Here in Florida we can report an over 50% loss in the tourist industry, that is because there are very few American visitors coming to to the parks!

We used to have over 2000 people weekly move to Orlando., jobs were plentiful, that was in 03, 04,05,06, slowing noticeably last year, and now having come to a sceeching halt!

The streets are empty and so are the hotels!

There is no rebound of Economy here, as usual Bush lives in another dimension of time!|||The current number is about 5.1 percent, not 5.6, and unless you have a link for your alleged quote, I don%26#039;t believe it is accurate. Also, the current unemployment situation involves many white collar people, from the banking industry and elsewhere. They WILL seek jobs.

Either number is not out of line with the rate of unemployment in America that has been considered in the normal range for over 50 years.

Some people don%26#039;t WANT jobs. Take for example many auto workers who volunteer to take layoffs and draw 95% of normal straight-time pay to stay home. Workers with less seniority are jealous because they have to stay on the job.

Also, many street bums do as well on handouts and muggings as they would by working for minimum wage, and they don%26#039;t have to bother with taxes.|||You my friend represent the mindset of the average liberal (makes no sense)1. The unemployment rate during the Bush Administration was 5.1% Clinton 5.6% and Bush inherited the beginning of a recession .

Full employment will never go below 4% I have spoken to people in Human resources dept and they have all stated because of alchoholism and drug use 4% of the American workforce are basically unemployable.
